We are thrilled that Wendy Amsellem has offered to teach classes in July for middle and high school students on the readings for the high holidays. After taking the class the students will write reflections on the story of their choice, which we will then publish as part of a High Holiday companion to share with the Darkhei Noam community.

Class will meet via Zoom on the following dates from 2 to 3pm.

Week 1, Monday and Wednesday July 6th and July 8th - Torah Reading for Day 1 of Rosh haShannah, Hagar and Yishmael (Genesis 21).

Week 2, Monday and Wednesday July 13th and July 15th - Torah Reading for Day 2 of Rosh haShannah, Akeidat Yitzchak (Genesis 22).

Week 3, Monday and Wednesday July 20th and July 22nd - Haftorah Reading for Day 1 of Rosh haShannah, Channa and Shmuel (I Samuel 1).

Week 4, Monday and Wednesday July 27th and July 29th - Haftorah for Yom Kippur, Yonah, (We will focus on Jonah 1 and 3).

Reflections would need to be submitted by August 10.

There are also opportunities for parents and students to assist with the editing.
