Darkhei Noam is proud to start a parsha group for older kids (7th grade and up). This group is different than any other Jewish class you might have been to.

Shabbat mornings at 11:15 we will gather in the library at MCS (masks and vaccination required) to explore the weekly Torah portion in an easy going, interesting and conversational fashion. In particular, we will look at the questions all young people are thinking about these days, as refracted through the Torah portion: Who am I? What do I want to do with my life? Who are my real friends? What do I hope to become and why? How do I get through the crazy of life and still be a normal young person? That kind of stuff. We don't pretend to have any answers for these questions, but we do think that exploring them together, with the wisdom of the Torah helps us live a little better. Oh, and by the way, we will be serving artisanal pastries with tea and coffee. This group will be led by Rabbi Dan Smokler who was once a teenager, and is an expert in artisanal pastries. If you're interested in joining, please contact Peter Beinart at Peter.Beinart@journalism.cuny.edu
