1. Kabbalat Shabbat - The Exodus: What are the Stories We Don't Share?
2. Before Musaf - Does Liberation Mean We All End Up in the Wilderness?
3. Community lunch following kiddush - From Justification to Justice: Jewish Sources on Abortion
Registration for lunch closes Wednesday, January 25 at noon.

Michal Raucher is Undergraduate Director and Associate Professor of Jewish Studies at Rutgers. In her research she is interested in how Jewish women in the US and Israel push boundaries, reinforce norms, and construct moral worlds. She is currently researching the ordination of Orthodox Jewish women in Israel and America. She is the author of Conceiving Agency: Reproductive Authority Among Haredi Women (Indiana University Press, 2020). Dr. Raucher has a PhD in Religious Studies with a graduate certificate in Gender and Sexual Studies from Northwestern University, an MA in Bioethics from UPenn, and BAs in Hebrew Bible from JTS and in Religion from Columbia University.

Special Speaker Beila Kraus is a freshman at Columbia studying Cognitive Science, as well as studying Talmud and Rabbinics at JTS. Over the past five years, she has been exploring how Jews connect with nature, and how our land based traditions inform our role in the climate movement. She has served on the National Board of the Jewish Youth Climate Movement, coordinating actions to push Jewish institutions toward carbon neutrality. She prays for a future where the Jewish people fulfill their duty as shomrei adamah, or protectors of the land. -
