Thursday, May 16th at 8 pm
In recognition of May being Mental Health Awareness Month, Darkhei Noam invites you to join us for a ZOOM chavurah led by Malka Strasberg Edinger on the topic of: וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּם מְאֹד לְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם / Self-Care in Jewish Texts:
Come explore what our traditional Jewish texts say about the importance of taking care of oneself, specifically the non-physical aspects of ourselves.
Malka is a full-time pediatric speech and feeding therapist with a doctorate in Bible Studies. She wrote her dissertation on the masoretic notes of the Leningrad Codex as realized in the Biblia Hebraica academic Bible.
Malka has taught classes in Phonetics, Linguistics, Intro to the Hebrew Bible, and Parshanut/Medieval Jewish Bible Exegesis at Stern College, The New School, and JTS. Additionally, she has taught at Limmud, NY, and in various shuls (including DN) on the UWS.
The session is scheduled in place of Joe Septimus' 5/16 8 pm shiur
