Shopping After Pesach

Note that limitations of purchasing food after Pesach only apply to the purchase of chametz; you may purchase non-chametz, including kitniyot, in any Jewish-owned establishment immediately after Pesach.

Chametz may be purchased in stores owned by non-Jews immediately after Pesach (see below).

In Jewish-owned stores, products containing chametz may be purchased if (1) the proprietor sells the chametz for Pesach, or (2) once enough time has passed that the stock during Pesach has been purchased by other customers and been replaced by new products from the store’s suppliers. The recommended waiting times are as follows:
Bread - 1 week
Cereal - 2 weeks
Pasta, cakes, cookies - 3 weeks
