Sunday, January 13, 2019 • 7 Shevat 5779
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM150 West 85 Street (MCS)We are pleased to invite you to our first ever community Erev Iyyun - An Evening of Learning. We will be learning Torah in classes led by our community members. It is a great opportunity to come together and be exposed to the wonderful teachers we have in our shul.
We will have two sessions and each one will have a choice of two classes. We will conclude with Maariv:
Session # 1:
Liberation Theology: Chassidic Insights into the Parsha
Erin Leib Smokler
OR
Had he been alive today, would Maimonides have joined Darkhei Noam?
Emmanuel Bloch
Session # 2:
Reclaiming the power of intuition in halakhic decision making: Case studies from the t'shuvot of Rabbi Hayim David Halevi, Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv
David Hoffman
OR
Our Voices are Sweet
Deborah Anstandig
Come and sing! We’ll revisit Darkhei Noam favorite tunes and learn new ones. This is for everyone--shlichei tzibbur (prayer leaders) and community members, those who love to sing and those who love to listen.
