Shacharit & Torah Reading
Saturday, November 21, 2020 • 5 Kislev 5781
9:30 AM - 10:45 AMMCS - 150 West 85 StreetWe will meet inside MCS for Shacharit and Torah reading, and then move outside, weather permitting, for Musaf.
We recognize that meeting indoors has some inherent risks, and therefore we are taking the following steps to mitigate those:
- Face masks which fully cover your mouth and nose will be required at all times by all in attendance.
- In order to limit the amount of time spent together, we will not have a Dvar Torah and will move at a brisk pace.
- There will be very limited singing by the chazan, and none by others in attendance.
- We are limiting capacity to 15% of our space, up to about 40 people. Those in attendance who are not part of the same nuclear family must socially distance.
- No young children are allowed to attend. There will be no children’s room, toys, or programming. Children 10 or older may join but they must sit with their family members on one side of the mechitza for all of davening.
- We will have a small number of aliyot this Shabbat. If you would like to receive one, please request it on the form below and provide your Hebrew name. Blessings will be recited from your seat. We will confirm your aliyah via email on Friday.
We expect indoor davening to last from 9:30 - 11 am. Please make every effort to arrive on time so that we do not have to wait for a minyan.
You must RSVP below if you wish to attend Shacharit. We will not be able to accommodate walk-ins. You will receive an email confirmation on Friday. You do not need to register for Musaf outdoors.
This will allow us to gauge our numbers and is needed in the event that we have to notify people as part of contact tracing. Priority will be given to those who have to say Kaddish and the davening leaders and leiners. Other than those saying Kaddish, if there is demand from more than we can accommodate, we will work to rotate who can come each week.
For all of our in-person events:
- Do not attend if you are sick, feeling sick, or if you have been feeling sick in the last two weeks.
- Do not attend if you or any member of your household is under quarantine.
- We advise those who are in higher risk subgroups to be cautious in reengaging, especially in the indoor davening. When appropriate please discuss your decision with your medical provider.
- If you attend and later fall ill or are diagnosed via positive test with COVID-19 for any reason, we ask that you please notify Jordana so that we can make other members in attendance at that gathering aware of their potential exposure. Privacy will be respected.
